Bed linen come in a range of different fabrics and thread counts. The term "thread count" refers to the number of threads in a square inch of fabric. The higher the thread count the finer and better quality the fabric.
A thread count of 200 is fine; 233 is finer; 400 may be softer. But anything above 400 will likely only provide a higher price tag.

These are exactly what I expected. For slightly 'less expensive' pillowcases, yes, one or two of them do need to be ironed carefully into shape. But then, you wouldn't expect premium quality at an affordable price! All in all, they are good value, and I'm perfectly happy with my purchase.
